To setup EW-7206ApG or EW-7209ApG as a Repeater, please do the following:

First Step: Make sure you have the latest firmware available from our website.

The AP is not configured to assign IP-addresses, therefor we need to (temporarily) assign

one manually to your networkcard. (Wired or wirelessly, for flashing firmware we advice a

wired connection to your AP)

1) Go to “Control Panel”, “Network Connections” right-click your networkcard, go to it's

Properties, select “Internet Protocol (TCP/IP)”, click on “Properties”.

Select “Use the Following IP Address”, enter 192.168.2.2 as IP-address and subnet-

mask is 255.255.255.0. (Filled in automatically) Click “OK” and “OK” to save the

setting. (This can take a while.)

2) Logon to your AP; Open Internet Explorer, and surf to 192.168.2.1

Username = “admin” and password = “1234”

Click on “Upgrade” and browse to the bin file on your computer. (Download the

latest firmware from www.edimax.eu). Wait for the upgrade and reset.

3) When done, do a hardware reset! (To reset, press and hold the reset-button at the

back of the AP for 15 seconds and power it off and back on again.)

Second Step: Change the IP address of EW-7206APg according to your router.

4) Logon to your AP; Open Internet Explorer, and surf to 192.168.2.1

Username = “admin” and password = “1234”.

Click on “System Utility”, change the IP-address into your router’s IP range, subnet

mask and default gateway is your router’s IP address. (For example, 192.168.2.50,

255.255.255.0, 192.168.2.1). – You need to know what IP Address you can allocate

to your AP.
